ABOUT THE BOOK

Boomer the kangaroo loves to play and have fun just like the other animals. He longs to join the group playing soccer in the park after school. But there’s just one problem: his big feet often causes him to fall over when he runs. Ashamed and hurt when the other animal kids tease him, Boomer tends to stay on the sidelines, reluctant to risk anything new. Fortunately, his mother lets him know how much she loves him and assures him that his difference is God’s way of making him “extra special.” Still, Boomer has a hard time knowing how to fit in with his peers.

Then one day, Boomer and his mother see the group about to start a soccer game in the park. Before he can stop her, Boomer’s mother suggests he join in. What will happen when he finally takes a chance?

Boomer discovers that, regardless of our challenges, all things are possible with God. If we are willing to make ourselves available and have faith in him, he will use us in his service and prove that our supposed problems can indeed make us extra special.
